Last updated: 5 June 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how ART Walkway uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit the website, subscribe to newsletters, access account or subscriber functions, view advertising, use forms, or interact with patronage and payment services.

Cookies and similar technologies help the site function, support security, remember choices, deliver subscriber access, measure site performance, reduce spam, support advertising and enable secure payment processing where applicable.

This Cookies Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies may include local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, device identifiers or other tools that store or access information on your device.

Cookies may be:

Session cookies
Deleted when you close your browser.

Persistent cookies
Stored for a defined period or until you delete them.

First-party cookies
Set by ART Walkway or the site domain.

Third-party cookies
Set by external services used for analytics, advertising, payments, forms, spam prevention, security, embedded tools or other site functions.

2. How ART Walkway uses cookies

ART Walkway may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • operate the website and maintain security;
  • provide account, subscription and subscriber-access functions;
  • remember cookie choices and basic preferences;
  • deliver login links or account-related functions where applicable;
  • receive and route form submissions securely;
  • reduce spam, abuse and automated form submissions;
  • measure site traffic, performance and general reader behaviour;
  • display advertising, measure ad performance and prevent invalid traffic;
  • support secure patronage and payment processing;
  • detect fraud, abuse, spam or technical misuse;
  • maintain reliability, accessibility and service integrity.

We do not sell cookie data as a standalone dataset.

3. Essential site, subscription and member-account cookies

ART Walkway uses essential cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, provide subscription and member-account functions, manage login or email access links, remember account status, protect subscriber-only content and maintain site security.

These cookies may be set by ART Walkway’s publishing and membership platform. They are necessary for site operation, account access, subscriber access, subscription management and security.

Essential site, subscription and member-account cookies cannot be rejected through the cookie banner. You may block them through your browser settings, but parts of the site, subscription system, login flow or subscriber-only access may not work correctly.

4. Functional cookies

Functional cookies help remember choices or improve usability.

They may be used for:

  • remembering preferences;
  • improving navigation;
  • supporting account or subscription settings;
  • maintaining user interface choices.

Where functional cookies are not strictly necessary, they are used only where consent or applicable law permits.

5. Analytics cookies

ART Walkway uses Google Analytics 4 to understand general site use and performance.

Analytics cookies may help us understand:

  • which pages are viewed;
  • how readers arrive at the site;
  • approximate location, such as country or city;
  • device and browser information;
  • session timing;
  • navigation patterns;
  • general interaction behaviour.

Analytics information is used to improve navigation, performance, editorial presentation and site reliability. ART Walkway does not use analytics cookies to identify individual readers.

Analytics cookies are non-essential and are used only where consent or applicable law permits.

6. Advertising cookies

ART Walkway may display advertising through Google AdSense.

Advertising cookies and similar technologies may be used to:

  • serve ads;
  • measure ad performance;
  • manage ad frequency;
  • detect invalid traffic;
  • support advertising security;
  • provide personalised or non-personalised advertising depending on consent, settings and legal requirements.

Advertising cookies are non-essential and are used only where consent or applicable law permits.

ART Walkway may use Stripe or other payment providers for patronage or support payments.

Payment-related cookies and similar technologies may be used to:

  • operate checkout pages;
  • process payments securely;
  • prevent fraud;
  • authenticate payment sessions;
  • maintain payment security;
  • support receipts, confirmations or payment-related troubleshooting.

Some payment-related cookies may be essential where they are necessary to complete a payment or provide a service requested by the user. Other payment-provider cookies may depend on the payment provider’s own settings, consent requirements and policies.

ART Walkway does not store full payment card details.

8. Forms, spam prevention and reCAPTCHA

ART Walkway uses Formspree to receive and route forms.

Forms may use Google reCAPTCHA or related anti-spam technologies to reduce spam, abuse and automated submissions. These technologies may set or access cookies or similar identifiers necessary for security, bot detection and abuse prevention.

If reCAPTCHA or another anti-spam service is required for a form, the form may not work correctly if the necessary security technology is blocked.

9. Third-party services

ART Walkway may use third-party services that set cookies or use similar technologies. These may include:

  • publishing and membership services for essential site, subscription, member-account and subscriber-access functions;
  • Google Analytics 4 for analytics;
  • Google AdSense for advertising;
  • Stripe for patronage and payment processing;
  • Formspree for forms;
  • Google reCAPTCHA for spam prevention and bot detection;
  • hosting, security, spam-prevention and infrastructure services.

Third-party services may update their cookies, identifiers or technical methods over time. For that reason, cookie names and durations may vary.

Where required, third-party cookies are used only after consent has been given.

This table is illustrative. It is not a complete list of every cookie that may be set at a given moment.

ART Walkway requests consent for non-essential cookies where required by law.

When you visit the site, you may be presented with a cookie banner or consent tool. Depending on configuration and location, you may be able to:

  • accept all cookies;
  • reject non-essential cookies;
  • choose cookie categories;
  • update your preferences later.

Essential cookies may still be used because they are necessary for site operation, account access, subscription management, security, consent storage, form protection or payment functions requested by the user.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.

12. Browser controls

Most browsers allow you to block, delete or manage cookies.

Common browser paths include:

Chrome
Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies or Site settings

Firefox
Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Edge
Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Safari
Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data

Browser controls may not replace site-level consent where consent is legally required, but they can help you manage cookies stored on your device.

13. Google controls

Because ART Walkway may use Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense and Google reCAPTCHA, some Google-related settings may be managed through Google, browser or device controls.

These may include:

  • Google ad personalisation settings;
  • Google privacy controls;
  • browser or device-level ad settings;
  • Google Analytics opt-out tools, where available.

Advertising may still appear after personalised ads are disabled, but it may be less tailored. Some security or anti-spam functions may still be required for forms or site protection.

14. Stripe and payment controls

Where you use a patronage or payment link, Stripe or another payment provider may set cookies or similar technologies necessary for checkout, fraud prevention, security and payment-session integrity.

Payment providers may also provide their own privacy or cookie settings. Those settings apply to their own services and payment environment.

15. International processing

Some third-party services may process cookie-related information outside Finland, the European Union or the European Economic Area.

Where international transfers occur, ART Walkway relies on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

16. Changes to this Cookies Policy

ART Walkway may update this Cookies Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, consent tools, analytics, advertising, payment processing, subscription functions, forms, spam prevention or site operations.

Changes take effect when posted on this page, unless a later date is stated.
