How to Work With ART Walkway

ART Walkway welcomes serious communication from artists, writers, galleries, institutions, publishers, researchers, patrons, cultural organisations and public bodies, including material related to independent reporting, research, authorship, rights, governance, archival continuity and institutional trust.

This page explains how enquiries are received, reviewed and directed. Please use the relevant address rather than contacting individual editors directly, so messages can be handled with appropriate context and discretion.

Messages to ART Walkway should reflect the same standards as our editorial work: clarity, precision, attribution and care. The most useful messages are specific, contextual and relevant to the areas ART Walkway covers.

Not every message can receive an individual response, but material relevant to our editorial, institutional, rights, archival or governance work is read with care.

For editorial standards, see Governance & Standards. For support, see Patronage & Alliances. For reuse, see Reprints & Permissions.

Email addresses are written with [at] to reduce spam. Please replace [at] with @ before sending.

Before writing

ART Walkway does not accept paid placement requests, sponsored editorial proposals, advertorials, promotional coverage arrangements, visibility packages or requests to shape editorial outcomes.

Editorial coverage cannot be purchased, sponsored, negotiated or arranged through payment, patronage, partnership, advertising, access, hospitality or institutional relationship.

Promotional material may be submitted for editorial awareness, but it must not be framed as paid, guaranteed or conditional coverage.

Please do not attach conditions of coverage, approval, headline control, quote approval, favourable treatment or publication timing to messages, access requests or support enquiries.

Patronage, permissions, partnerships and editorial submissions are separate routes. Support, licensing or collaboration does not create editorial obligation, endorsement, approval rights or influence over coverage.

Please include, where relevant:

Follow-up messages should be limited to material updates, corrected information or genuine deadline changes.

For sensitive source material, please first contact us with a brief description of the matter rather than sending documents immediately. Confidential material should be clearly marked.

Where possible, please send links rather than large attachments.

This address is for editorial awareness, reporting leads, field monitoring, research context and source material. Submission does not guarantee coverage or response.

Licensing does not create endorsement, partnership, sponsorship or promotional affiliation.

Patronage and institutional support

For patronage, sustaining support, archive support, research support or institutional support enquiries:

patronage[at]artwalkway.com

Patronage supports the editorial and archival conditions that allow independent cultural reporting, research, verification, contributor development and long-term cultural record-building to continue.

Patronage does not purchase coverage, visibility, editorial priority, access to drafts, commissioning influence or interpretive control.

Please include:

  • name or organisation
  • nature of proposed support
  • individual, foundation, institutional or cultural context
  • area of interest, if relevant
  • whether recognition is requested
  • contact name, role and email address

Institutional patronage is reviewed for editorial, reputational and ethical compatibility. ART Walkway may decline, pause or return support where independence or public trust could reasonably be compromised.

Partnerships, cultural alliances, events and cultural literacy

For institutional collaboration, research infrastructure, archive development, distribution, access projects, cultural literacy programmes, public conversations, panels, talks, workshops, archive discussions, seminars or other non-editorial events:

partnerships[at]artwalkway.com

Partnership enquiries should include:

  • organisation name
  • proposed scope
  • purpose
  • cultural or public value
  • timeline
  • intended audience
  • responsibilities of each party
  • funding or resource structure, if relevant
  • visibility or recognition expectations
  • institutional context
  • event title, format or proposed date, where relevant
  • requested role, where relevant
  • fee or honorarium, if applicable
  • travel or access details, if applicable
  • contact name, role and email address

Partnerships, cultural alliances, events and cultural literacy work do not extend to editorial commissioning, coverage decisions, favourable treatment, approval rights or interpretive control.

Projects must be structured as cultural, archival, research, educational or public-interest contributions, not marketing initiatives disguised as editorial work.

Event participation does not create editorial obligation, coverage commitment, endorsement or promotional alignment.
