$45K Freund Teaching Fellowships at Washington University and Saint Louis Art Museum
Apply for the Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Fellowship—Teach at Washington University and Exhibit at the Saint Louis Art Museum.

Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts and the Saint Louis Art Museum are seeking two visual artists for the prestigious Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Teaching Fellowship—for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 academic years.
Fellows spend one semester on campus, teaching a self-designed course, working in an on-site studio, and developing a solo exhibition for the museum’s Currents series the following year. The award includes $45,000, access to WashU’s facilities, and a production grant.
Applicants must hold an MFA earned at least five years ago, have professional exhibition experience, and submit both a portfolio and a general course proposal. Prior teaching experience isn’t required, but a strong studio practice is.
Applications are due September 1, 2025.
