French luxury giant Chanel steps boldly into the cultural arena with the launch of Arts & Culture Magazine, a lavish 250-page printed publication dedicated to highlighting five years of the Chanel Culture Fund’s global artistic initiatives.

More than a typical fashion or lifestyle magazine, this collector’s editorial object blends art, fashion, and critical reflection, showcasing collaborations, portraits, and thought-provoking essays. Overseen by Yana Peel, Chanel’s Global Head of Arts and Culture and former Serpentine Gallery CEO, the magazine marks a new chapter in the house’s cultural engagement.

The inaugural issue features a striking cover: a 1921 Cubist bust of Gabrielle Chanel by Jacques Lipchitz, reimagined through a contemporary photograph by Roe Ethridge. This image encapsulates Chanel’s tension between heritage and innovation—a central theme in the magazine’s vision.

Distributed selectively in independent bookstores across 20 international cities—including Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, New York, and Shanghai—the magazine positions Chanel not just as a luxury brand but as an active patron and cultural player. Its pages chronicle support for prestigious institutions from the Royal Opera House in London to the Centre Pompidou in Paris, inviting readers into a broader dialogue about the intersections of creativity, society, and fashion today.

With this printed venture, Chanel stakes its claim in the evolving landscape of contemporary art discourse—delivering a lasting, tangible testament to its commitment beyond fleeting digital trends.
