Correspondents & Research Fellows
ART Walkway’s authority is produced through authored work. Correspondents and research fellows extend the platform’s capacity to research, interpret, and record the contemporary art field with precision. Participation is governed by editorial responsibility: verifiable context, accountable language, and permanence.
We publish research-led projects, critical reviews, and essays. We do not publish promotional writing. We do not negotiate editorial outcomes.
Access and representation
Correspondents and research fellows publish as independent authors. ART Walkway does not issue press credentials, secure access, or guarantee entry to preview days or restricted events. Any access obtained by authors is arranged independently and does not imply institutional representation beyond authorship.
Correspondents
Correspondents write within ART Walkway’s editorial register: analytical, evidence-aware, structurally literate. The objective is not reaction, but record—work that remains legible after the present moment has passed. Correspondent work is commissioned as critical reviews of exhibitions, biennials, and festivals.
Research fellows
Research fellows develop sustained research that expands the platform’s long-term reference value. Work is structured to remain usable over time: sources are traceable, terms are stable, claims are bounded, and responsibility is explicit. Research fellow work may take the form of multi-part research essays or thematic series.
Standards of participation
Participation does not relax standards; it increases them.
- Verification: Claims must be supportable. Sources must be identifiable.
- Attribution: Intellectual contributions are credited in full.
- Accountability: Errors are corrected through traceable appends, not quiet revision.
- Independence: Conflicts of interest are disclosed. Editorial judgment remains sovereign.
Submission protocol
ART Walkway does not review unsolicited full manuscripts. Proposals only. We do not accept completed texts.
To propose correspondence or a research fellowship submission, send:
- Intended category: Correspondent or Research Fellow
- A brief statement of purpose (max 200 words)
- 1–3 proposed subjects (or a short project outline for research fellows)
- Short bio (100–150 words) and relevant affiliations
- 2–5 work samples (links or PDFs). For research-driven samples, include a source list for at least one piece.
- Disclosure of conflicts of interest relevant to coverage (institutional roles, representation, financial ties)
Reviews require firsthand attendance.
Research fellow proposals require traceable sources and documented framing. Letters of assignment are issued only by prior agreement for a defined published project.
